Give One for Cincy Initiative

Give One for Cincy Challenge calls for 100,000 hours of service to make the city of Cincinnati better. Watch the Give One for Cincy story with a special message from the mayor, John Cranley.

February 1st marks the launch of a volunteer blitz with a goal of making Cincinnati the nation’s premier volunteer city.

The newly formed “Give One For Cincy” is made up of Cincinnati area non-profit agencies with a focus on volunteerism.  With help from Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and other public officials, as well as corporate and community leaders, Give One For Cincy will encourage people to give one hour (or more) of their time each month to volunteer.  Cranley says, “Cincinnati’s comeback will be judged not by how high our skyline reaches, but how well we reach out and lift as we climb. How much greater will our city be if we all contribute a little of our time?”

The online campaign at www.giveoneforcincy.org allows people to log volunteer hours and share pictures and also offers suggestions about agencies that need volunteers.

In Cincinnati, more than 1000 non-profit agencies rely on volunteers for help; only 25.8% of Cincinnatian’s volunteered their time last year.   The goal of Give One For Cincy is to log at least 100,000 service hours in 2018. Both new and existing volunteers are encouraged to visit the website and show their involvement.
