The intensive Homework Help program uses certified teachers (often retired) to reteach math and literacy skills through the homework designated by students’ daytime classroom teachers. Tutors typically work with small groups of students several times a week.
FamiliesFORWARD is always in search of volunteer tutors who would enjoy working one-on-one or in small groups with students. Companies, college students, and others are all welcome to give their time to help students who are struggling to understand reading, math and other learning concepts.
Students work in a clinical setting and assist physicians, nurses and administrators who are able to share their perspective through mentorship and clinical training. This is a year-long commitment consisting of one or more shifts, totaling 8 hours per week.
Assist with either Answers in Genesis, the Creation Museum, or the Ark Encounter.
Volunteers for special events that benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children — Cincinnati and not holding a regular ongoing volunteer status will not be required to undergo drug testing or background checks. References may be required. Depending on the nature of the event, references and/or applicable health screening may be required.
Volunteers work in public areas of hospital, information desk, tour guide, food services, patient or event ambassador. Mentors in the Hampton Mentoring Program read with a student and work on completing activities that are aligned to Ohio’s New Learning standards.
